County Masters - Round 2 2011

Round 2 of the County Masters took place tonight at Trowbridge and Corsham went along with a small (but perfectly formed) team due to holidays and other commitments.

Most pleasing result of the night was in the 120+year 4x50fc relay where Stuart Gibbs, Sarah Lewis and Kirsty Mason kept us in the race and allowed Mike Edmundson to bring it home for GOLD.

In the individual events, we had 10 medals from 12 races - not a bad little haul.

County Call Ups - Masters

More County call ups for Corsham - this time for the National inter county masters to be held at Sherbourne on 21st November.  Not one, not two, not three, but four members of Corsham selected.

Unfortunately, Mike Edmundson is unable to make the gala, but Nikki Harris, Andy Chapman and Stuart Gibbs will be there.

Wiltshire Masters - The Final Round 2010

The trusty few made the trip to Salisbury for the final round of the county masters on a rainy and windy evening to battle the other 'mature' swimmers.  Events on offer 100IM, 50 breast, 25 back, 25 fly and 50 free.

Unsurprisingly, swimmer of the evening was Nikki Harris (once again) who actually entered all 5 events this year and claimed 5 gold medals and 3 county records.  All this, despite feeling "a bit off".

Andy Chapman continued the medal run with 3 golds, a silver and a bronze.

Another Master-ful display

Round 2 of the Wiltshire County Masters took place at the Link Centre on 5th June and despite their numbers being down on the last round, Corsham Masters fought hard and had fun.  4 events on the night - 100 back, 50 fly, 25 free and 100 breast.  Only four of us there, so person by person....

Masters Wilts County - Massive Medal Haul

The largest Masters team (in recent times) to compete at the Wiltshire County Masters returned home from Trowbridge with 19 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze).

Making their debuts in Masters events were Heather Knight (2S,2B), Michael Edmundson (1G, 2S), Sean Browne (1B) and Ben Bridgeman (1S,2B) - all rising to the challenge and enjoying the more relaxed atmosphere.

Not to be outdone, the 'experienced' swimmers carried on their rich vein of form.
