Being in the Team

A new page has been created in the Club Members Area, entitled "Being in the Team". This is a guide to what is expected of swimmers who are selected to swim for the Club, how the competitions work, the Wiltshire Leagues, equipment needed, etc.

This is based on conversation and questions from many Club members. If anyone  would like to ask questions or make comments then I will update the page accordingly as this is intended to make swimming for the Club as straightforward as possible, so that swimmers can really concentrate on their performances and winning for the Team.

Event Fixtures Moved to Front Page

All Event details can now be found on the front page (see top menu). Here you'll find Location of events and the years Calendar of Events. You can also download a spreadsheet of the events. BUT, please be aware that the downloaded sheet may change so check regularly. If you have any fixture to add, please contact Fiona Moore or any member of the committee. Or simply add a comment under the page that needs changing. Team Lists remain protected in the Members Area.

Yet More Paperwork - Sorry

This is both an apology and a plea.  The ASA have just changed their data protection notice and now require all members to sign up to the new policy. So a huge pile of forms arrived at my house this morning with the request that each of our members fill one in! Forms will be available on the desk, so I'm sorry to ask for yet more paperwork, but if you could collect a form for each member, complete and return it as soon as possible I would be very grateful.

Masters Wilts County - Massive Medal Haul

The largest Masters team (in recent times) to compete at the Wiltshire County Masters returned home from Trowbridge with 19 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze).

Making their debuts in Masters events were Heather Knight (2S,2B), Michael Edmundson (1G, 2S), Sean Browne (1B) and Ben Bridgeman (1S,2B) - all rising to the challenge and enjoying the more relaxed atmosphere.

Not to be outdone, the 'experienced' swimmers carried on their rich vein of form.

Automatic Notification of New Information

Hi, I've been asked to help explain how a member can receive automatic notification of any new updates to the swimming club website.  Click "Read More" for more details.

Rotas now available in members area

The Monday, Wednesday and Friday desk rotas have now been posted in the members area of the website so you can check dates & get contact details for other rota members. If you haven't already signed the permission form to allow your details to appear on the website please do so as soon as possible.

Automatic Blog Updates to Your Computer

The New Club Website allows you to use RSS feeds. RSS (Rich Site Summary, also known as Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it. At Corsham ASC we have an RSS feed capability (click on the RSS icon on the left hand side).

Club Records Posted

A Spreadsheet containing all the club records as well as the sprint and championship records is available under "Documents/Times and Results" in the members section.

Hint: Use the selector at the top of the columns to select the records you want to view, otherwise there are a lot of numbers to look at. E.g. you can select "14" at the top of the Age column to view all the records for 14 year olds only. Select "Free" and "100" to view all the 100m Freestyle records.

Have fun

Dave
