Corsham were the hosts for the first round of this years winter league with guests Swindon Dolphins A and B, plus Marlborough Penguins.  In short, it was very good and I hope the swimmers all enjoyed it as much as I.  As a team, we were competitive across all age groups and enjoyed several fine overall wins.  No small achievement against the Dolphins A team.  Whilst the wins are very satisfying, I found the battling display from other races equally pleasing.

Results from Day 2 of the Club Champs are attached (please see the whole blog for an important note regarding the FINA points).  Once again, well done.  I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.  Just one thing I think is a bit of a shame, there's some great racing at the end of the sessions, and nobody's there to see it.

The recorded times from the Club Champs 800m are attached. Some great swims here, I've posted times from last year where available so you can see for yourselves the improvements many of the swimmers have made.  Also, the times from the 200m Fly, also some excellent times in a very tough event.  Well done, Keep it up.

OK, results for the first full day of the Club Champs 2011 are attached.  Thoroughly enjoyed the days racing.  Congratulations to all the swimmers and thanks to all the helpers.  2nd day is Sunday 16th.

Huge congratulations for all those who took part in the 1500m frestyle last Wednesday.  Results are attached and also in the members section.

A solid team performance in the final round of this years Summer League saw Corsham A finish in a very secure 3rd place so retaining division 2 status for next year.

The team got off to a great start, with no finish lower than 3rd in the first 10 events which was highlighted with 2 excellent wins for Duncan Wilson and Melissa Birkett, and also numerous PBs from Mark Edmundson, Lucy Adams, Charles Brown and Lucy Stanley.

It was very much a case of "Job Done" in Calne for round 3 of this years Summer League.  A good strong overall performance saw the Corsham A team consolidate our 3rd place in Division 2 which takes the pressure off somewhat for the final gala in September.

Especially pleasing to see were the younger age groups getting more competitive and being more involved in the races.  This is an area where we've been struggling a bit this year and hopefully this improvement can continue. So very encouraging signs.
