Wiltshire Masters - The Final Round 2010
The trusty few made the trip to Salisbury for the final round of the county masters on a rainy and windy evening to battle the other 'mature' swimmers. Events on offer 100IM, 50 breast, 25 back, 25 fly and 50 free.
Unsurprisingly, swimmer of the evening was Nikki Harris (once again) who actually entered all 5 events this year and claimed 5 gold medals and 3 county records. All this, despite feeling "a bit off".
Andy Chapman continued the medal run with 3 golds, a silver and a bronze.
Heather Knight took two bronze medals in the fly and breast and wanted it to go on record that she did actually have to beat swimmers to do this.
Sarah Lewis swam well in her IM - just being nudged out of the medals into 4th.
And finally, Stuart Gibbs (writing in the 3rd person once again) took a silver in the fly.
The team finished 6th overall throughout the year which might seem dissappointing as we were 4th after round 1. However, all the teams above us had many more masters swimmers and it is a testimony to how hard our masters swimmers work.
Next up is a trip to Sheffield for the National Masters... I'm going to predict more medals!
