Inter County Masters
This event is similar to the winter league in that it's held in several pools at the same time and although gala results are available on the day, it takes a while to collate all the info from the various pools. However, it's not ALL relays. The south west region took place in Sherborne today and with Gloucestershire and Cornwall not entering a team, it was down to Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon and Somerset to battle it out. Club representation came in the form of Andy Chapman, Nikki Harris and me (accompanied by Andy Noakes from Trowbridge but trains with Corsham masters too). Too many races going on for me to keep track of the results, but there were some wins, some great times and some PBs. (I'll add the full results once available) Personally, I find it quite tough to pick myself back up for another gala (having swum winter league the night before), so who knows how the older swimmers do it!!! However, it was a great atmosphere and nice to swim alongside swimmers from other Wiltshire clubs rather than battle against them. And a nice way to round off the masters year... Time for mulled wine and mince pies and a little rest! Oh yes, the results... 3rd (from 6 if you count the two that didn't show). Stuart
